Rotating Shelter 2017 - A Big Success

This November members of Blue Ocean Faith, St. Clare's, and Temple Beth Emeth
came together to provide a warm and welcoming shelter for homeless men
vetted by Washtenaw Shelter Association.

Thank you all!

Some students brought warm socks, and others made attractive placemats.
Members transported our guests to and fro.
Others still brought delicious meals and snacks, and some stayed overnight and hosted.
Some families came and socialized - chatted and played cards.
The men were all given backpacks filled with useful items compliments
of Blue Ocean Faith. Finally, thanks to Rod & Robin Little,
a few members of TBE's choir came and sang.

Although the weather was mild, and we had fewer guests than expected,
we were ready! Thank you for making a lovely Thanksgiving for the less fortunate.

Advocacy and InformationEach year the SAC focuses on long-standing and newer programs involving advocacy efforts, social justice, and exploration of pertinent issues. These efforts change year to year, and we hope that the congregation will take an interest in these projects. We welcome congregants to bring ideas for new projects to discuss at our yearly retreat.

Our Mission

We promote and nurture the beliefs and practices of Reform Judaism by cultivating a love and understanding of our Jewish heritage, stimulating fellowship within the Temple and in the Jewish community, and strengthening the bonds of loyalty with the Jewish people everywhere to bring near the age of universal peace through acts of righteousness in society at large.
